Louisiana Plaintiffs Move for Class Certification of Bextra Case

NEW ORLEANS - Plaintiffs in a Bextra lawsuit filed in Louisiana have requested that a federal judge certify a class of Louisiana residents who were allegedly injured as a result of taking the drug. Aiola v. Pfizer Inc., No. 05-1207 (E.D. La.).

In a June 27 motion for class certification filed in the U.S. District Court for the Eastern District of Louisiana, the plaintiffs contend that all of the requirements of F.R.C.P. 23 have been met in their complaint against Pfizer and that the case would be best handled as a class action.
