Study Links Long-Term Painkiller Use, Breast Cancer

photo-1A recent study has identified an increased risk of breast cancer among women who take ibuprofen and aspirin for periods exceeding five years, adding to speculation that there may be evidence that long-term use of such painkillers may have carcinogenic effects.
The data were published in the June issue of the Journal of the National Cancer Institute, and follow an investigation of whether there is a link between nonsteroidal anti-inflammatory drugs and breast cancer.Epidemiologic studies of such an association have yielded mixed results and, according to the latest study, do not seem to indicate that regular NSAID use, identified …
