MDL Court Appoints Liaison Counsel as Nearly 100 Apply for Steering Spots

NEW ORLEANS - The judge overseeing MDL 1657 has appointed liaison counsel for plaintiffs and defendants in the litigation, while numerous parties have applied for appointment to the steering committees for both. In Re: Vioxx Products Liability Litigation, MDL Docket No. 1657 (E.D. La.).

Applications for the posts were filed in the past month in the U.S. District Court for the Eastern District of Louisiana, where nearly 150 Vioxx-related claims were transferred in February.
