WASHINGTON - Pre-trial proceedings for all Vioxx-related lawsuits filed in federal courts around the country will be conducted before a single judge in Louisiana, HarrisMartin Publishing is reporting to its Litigation Watch: Arthritis Drugs subscribers.
Judicial Panel on Multidistrict Litigation officials have confirmed that an order was issued this morning, transferring 129 Vioxx-related cases to the U.S. District Court for the Eastern District of Louisiana. The sources also indicated that the consolidated docket, MDL No. 1657, will be overseen by Judge Eldon E. Fallon, who currently presides over the Propulsid Products Liability Litigation MDL.
