NEW YORK - The wife of a New York man who died after taking Bextra has sued the drug's manufacturer, claiming the company misled consumers about the potential dangers associated with ingesting the arthritis drug. Raymond v. Pfizer, Inc., No. 116109/04 (N.Y. Sup. Ct., New York Cty.).
In what is believed to be the country's first Bextra-related personal injury lawsuit, Susan Raymond alleges that her husband, Kyle, suffered a fatal heart attack on June 8, 2003, after taking Bextra.
