SHREVEPORT, La. - The manufacturers of Celebrex are facing allegations from 96 plaintiffs who claim they suffered a variety of injuries including high blood pressure and bleeding ulcers as a result of using the arthritis medication. Bell, et al. v. G.D. Searle & Co., et al. No. 04-CV-0701-S (W.D. La.).
The plaintiffs' stated in their March 19 complaint that defendants G.D. Searle & Co., Monsato Co., Pharmacia and Pfizer encouraged the use of Celebrex in improper customers, misrepresented the safety of the drug, and concealed its dangerous side effects.
