DANVILLE, Ind. - An Indiana woman filed a complaint in an Indiana Superior Court against the manufacturers of Celebrex and Vioxx claiming that she suffered cardiovascular injuries as a result of using the arthritis drugs. Carla A. McCullough v. Merck & Co., et al., No. 2003-0309 (Ind. Super. Ct., Hendricks Cty.).
The complaint, which was docketed Oct. 15 in Hendricks County Superior Court, claims that Merck, the manufacturer of Vioxx, and Pfizer, the company that sells Celebrex, encouraged the use of the drugs in patients who did not need the drug, and misrepresented the safety of the drugs.
