Makers of Testosterone Patch Androderm Accused of Concealing Risks of Cardiac Events, Stroke

RENO, Nev. — A Virginia man has sued Actavis Inc. and a subsidiary in Texas federal court, accusing the defendants of aggressively marketing their testosterone therapy patch Androderm while failing to warn users of life-threatening side effects such as cardiac events and stroke.

In a March 26 complaint filed in the U.S. District Court for the District of Nevada, Dale Hall claims that in order to sell their Androderm patch, Actavis Inc. and subsidiary Anda Inc. engaged in aggressive media campaigns to convince men who were experiencing the typical effects of aging that they were suffering from low testosterone.
