SAN LUIS OBISPO, Calif. - A California woman who claims she developed liver failure after taking the weight loss supplement Lipokinetix has sued the product's manufacturer alleging it knew of the dangers associated with its recommended use. Trahey v. Syntrax Innovations, Inc., et al., No. CV010829 (Calif. Super. Ct., San Luis Obispo Cty.).
The lawsuit, filed recently in San Luis Obispo County Superior Court, is among the first to take on the now-controversial dietary supplement, which was the subject of an FDA warning to consumers in early December.
