The FDA has published a new product warning for the antidepressant Paxil, indicating that sudden discontinuation of the drug could cause severe withdrawal symptoms.

In new safety labeling information released by the FDA, Paxil manufacturer GlaxoSmithKline said there have been spontaneous reports of adverse events upon the abrupt discontinuation of Paxil that may have no causal relationship to the drug.
