Md. Court Grants Summary Judgment for In-State Distributor in Biomet Lawsuit

BALTIMORE — A Maryland federal court has awarded summary judgment to an in-state distributor of Biomet hip implant devices that successfully argued that it had no dealings with the Virginia medical facility where the plaintiff’s allegedly defective device was implanted. Rehbein v. Biomet Orthopedics LLC, et al., No. WDQ-12-1247 (D. Md.).
Following that June 15 order by U.S. District Judge William D. Quarles Jr., plaintiff Patricia Rehbein voluntarily dismissed her remaining claims against co-defendants Biomet Orthopedics LLC and Biomet Inc.
