PHILADELPHIA - In an effort to secure the just, speedy and inexpensive determination of individual PPA lawsuits, the Philadelphia Court of Common Please has ordered that all such claims be consolidated under one master docket. In Re Phenylpropanolamine ("PPA") Litigation, 2001 No. 001 (Pa. Comm. Pls., Philadelphia Cty.).
The pending lawsuits were consolidated by order issued Nov. 1 by Common Pleas Judge Allan L. Tereshko. The order would give all pending and future PPA personal injury claims "mass tort" designation.
The order also called for the filing of a Master Complaint, which plaintiffs entered into the docket on Nov. 30. …
