Panel Establishes Federal Heparin MDL in Ohio

WASHINGTON, D.C. - Federal lawsuits alleging personal and economic injuries caused by tainted batches of heparin will be presided over by a single judge in Ohio, according to an order from the Judicial Panel on Multidistrict Litigation. In Re: Heparin Products Liability Litigation, MDL No. 1953 (JPML).
The JPML issued the consolidation and transfer order June 6, assigning Judge James G. Carr to oversee pre-trial proceedings for all federal cases that are transferred to his U.S. District Court in the Northern District of Ohio.
