KANSAS CITY, Mo. - A Missouri federal judge on April 18 denied summary judgment to a plaintiff who alleges that Wyeth's Pondimin caused her primary pulmonary hypertension, finding issues of fact as to whether the prescribing physician knew of the risks associated with the diet drug. Judge Nanette K. Laughrey of the Western District of Missouri also denied the plaintiff's motion to bar her treating physician's testimony regarding the statistical probability of contracting PPH after short-term use of the drug.
