Federal Gadolinium Cases Transferred to Ohio

WASHINGTON, D.C. - The Judicial Panel on Multidistrict Litigation has created an MDL docket for all federal claims alleging injury caused by gadolinium-containing contrast dyes, transferring two dozen cases to Ohio for coordinated pretrial proceedings. In Re: Gadolinium Contrast Dyes Products Liability Litigation, MDL No. 1909 (JPML).
The JPML issued the transfer order Feb. 27, rejecting efforts by at least one defendant to create separate dockets for the various parties named in the lawsuits, which allege that the contrast dyes cause nephrogenic systemic fibrosis in patients with impaired kidney function.
