CHICAGO - A judge presiding over a ReNu contact lens solution case has ordered counsel for the product's manufacturer to "clean up their act" with regard to the manner in which they issue answers and affirmative defenses to the plaintiff's complaint. Zapalik v. Bausch & Lomb Inc., No. 08-295 (N.D. Ill.).
In a sharply worded, sua sponte opinion and order issued Jan. 30, Judge Milton I. Shadur of the U.S. District Court for the Northern District of Illinois challenged ReNu maker Bausch & Lomb to correct their responsive pleadings, which Judge Shadur said do not comply with court rules.
