Pfizer: New York Judge Tosses Celebrex Testimony

NEW YORK - For the second time in three months a judge has ruled that there is insufficient data to show that Celebrex can cause heart attacks and stroke at its most commonly prescribed dosage. In Re: New York Bextra/Celebrex Product Liability Litigation, No. 109535/05 (N.Y. Sup. Ct., New York Cty.).
Pfizer Inc. said Jan. 9 that New York County Supreme Court Justice Shirley W. Kornreich granted a motion to exclude the plaintiffs' expert testimony that patients taking 200 mg of Celebrex per day face an increased risk of cardiovascular injury.
