PHILADELPHIA - A judge has reversed a $1.5 million verdict awarded to a woman who claimed she developed breast cancer as a result of taking a hormone replacement regimen that included the drug Provera. Simon v. Wyeth Pharmaceuticals Inc., et al., No. 040604229 (Pa. Comm. Pls., Philadelphia Cty.).
According to sources, Philadelphia Common Pleas Court Judge Nitz Quinones Alejandro on Sept. 7 issued a one-page order granting a post-trial motion for judgment notwithstanding the verdict filed by drug maker Pfizer Inc.
