$8.5 Million Award Affirmed in Vaccine Case Based on 'Seed' Tests

ST. LOUIS - A state appeals court has upheld an $8.5 million award to a man who developed paralysis in his arm after receiving an oral polio vaccine that he claimed was defective because the manufacturers failed to properly test the product while it was being formulated. Strong v. American Cyanamid Co., et al., No. ED87045 (Mo. Ct. App., Eastern Div.).
