JACKSON, Miss. - Healthcare providers named in a Risperdal personal injury case have been dismissed by a federal judge who ruled that the plaintiff failed to provide adequate notice to the defendants prior to bringing her complaint. Redmond v. Astrazeneca Pharmaceuticals LP, et al., No. 06-523 (S.D. Miss.).
In a decision issued March 30, Judge Tom S. Lee of the U.S. District Court for the Southern District of Mississippi ruled that Taquiese Redmond's failure to give 60 days written notice before suing the medical providers violated a substantive state notice requirement for asserting medical negligence claims.
