ROCKFORD, Ill. - A woman who took Permax for nearly six years to treat her restless leg syndrome has sued the drug's manufacturer for failing to warn the public of permanent heart-related side effects associated with the drug. O'Connor v. Eli Lilly & Co., et al., No. 07-50042 (N.D. Ill.)

In a lawsuit filed Feb. 1 in Illinois' Winnebago County Circuit Court, Kathleen O'Connor alleges that several companies that manufactured or distributed Permax failed to adequately warn that studies had demonstrated its association with valvular heart disease.
