CLEARWATER, Fla. - A Florida man who was injured after receiving Procrit injections he says were either defective or counterfeit has sued the drug's manufacturer and the pharmacy where the anemia treatment was purchased. Kokeny v. Walgreen Co., et al., No. 06-9518 (Fla. Cir. Ct., Pinellas Cty.).
Gasper Kokeny's Feb. 15 first amended complaint filed in the Pinnellas County Circuit Court alleges that Amgen Inc., Ortho Biotech Products, Walgreen Co., and Cardinal Health Inc. are liable for the dangerous decline in red blood cells that he suffered after receiving Procrit injections on three occasions in 2003.
