Magistrate Recommends Severance of More than 6,500 Seroquel Claims

ORLANDO, Fla. - A federal magistrate has recommended that the judge overseeing coordination of federal Seroquel cases involving thousands of plaintiffs sever all of the claims, 95 percent of which have been filed by a single law firm. In Re: Seroquel Products Liability Litigation, MDL No. 1769 (M.D. Fla.).
In a report and recommendation issued Dec. 22 in the U.S. District Court for Middle District of Florida, Magistrate Judge David A. Baker said that the multiple plaintiff cases pending in the Seroquel MDL do not appear to seek relief arising from the same transaction or occurrence.
