NEW YORK - Ten plaintiffs from seven states have sued Pfizer for allegedly concealing the serious risks associated with its Lipitor cholesterol drug.
The plaintiffs filed their lawsuits in New York Supreme Court on Sept. 7, claiming that Lipitor (atorvastatin calcium) causes nerve damage, memory loss and other cognitive impairments. They say that after consuming Lipitor, they have experienced "altered sensations" in their hands, feet, shoulders, legs and fingers; fatigue; loss of energy; forgetfulness; disorientation; loss of balance; muscle pain; confusion; difficulty speaking and swallowing; and irritability.
