Ortho Evra Gets Mass Tort Billing in New Jersey

TRENTON, N.J. - The New Jersey Supreme Court has ordered that all state Ortho Evra birth control patch cases be filed in a single state court so that they can be centralized for case management purposes. In Re: Ortho Evra Birth Control Patch Litigation, Case No. 275 (N.J. Super. Ct., Middlesex Cty.).
Chief Justice Deborah T. Poritz issued the directive Oct. 10, designating the Ortho Evra litigation a 'mass tort' - a billing the litigation failed to receive from the high court just one year ago.
