NEW YORK - A New York woman has sued Merck, Proctor & Gamble and Aventis, claiming that the companies' Fosamax and Actonel osteoporosis drugs caused her jaw disease. Thomson v. Merck & Co. Inc., et al. No. 06-3813 (S.D. N.Y.).
On May 18 in the U.S. District Court for the Southern District of New York, Carlee R. Thomson sued Merck, P&G and Aventis, alleging that Merck's Fosamax (alendronate sodium) and P&G's and Aventis' Actonel (risedronate sodium) bisphosphonate drugs caused her osteonecrosis of the jaw (ONJ).
