PITTSBURGH - A Pennsylvania couple have sued AstraZeneca, claiming that the company's Crestor cholesterol drug caused the wife's rhabdomyolysis and renal failure. Kepple, et al. v. AstraZeneca. No. 2:06-cv-00802 (W.D. Pa.).
Mary Ann and Gary Kepple sued AstraZeneca in the U.S. District Court for the Western District of Pennsylvania on June 16. They say Mary Ann Kepple used Crestor (rosuvastatin) from April 23, 2004, to June 18, 2004.
According to the plaintiffs, AstraZeneca negligently designed, developed, tested and manufactured Crestor, which they claim is a "dangerous and defective product." The couple further asserts that AstraZeneca knew that Crestor could cause …
