D.C. Judge Transfers Aredia Case to Southern District of Ohio

WASHINGTON, D.C. — A District of Columbia federal judge has transferred an Aredia injury case to the U.S. District Court for the Southern District of Ohio, finding that the events upon which the claims are based all occurred in that district. Sheffer v. Novartis Pharmaceuticals Corp., No. 08-0904 (D. D.C.).

In a July 10 order, Judge John D. Bates of the U.S. District Court for the District of Columbia further found that because Ohio tort law governs this case, the transferee forum's expertise in applying that state's law favors transfer.
