Mifeprex Responsible for 2 More Deaths, FDA Reports

WASHINGTON, D.C. .- The FDA is reporting two more deaths following medical abortion with Danco Laboratories' Mifeprex (mifepristone).
According to the FDA, four deaths from sepsis were previously confirmed between September 2003 to June 2005 in women following medical abortion with mifepristone and misoprostol.
The FDA issued a public health advisory on March 17, notifying healthcare professionals of the new reported deaths. The FDA said Danco Laboratories verbally notified the agency.
