ATLANTA - Pfizer Inc. and a Georgia woman recently settled a lawsuit where the plaintiff claimed her husband shot himself in the head as a result of ingesting the company's Zoloft antidepressant. Diamond v. Pfizer Inc. No. 1:05-cv-1444 (N.D. Ga.).
Sources said the terms of the Dec. 21 settlement remain confidential.
Jean A. Diamond claimed her husband, Gerald, killed himself in June 2003 after suffering 'severe side effects' from Zoloft (sertaline) after three days use [See Story in Columns-Drugs & Supplements, June 2005].
