TYLER, Texas - A Texas man who blamed his wife's suicide on her use of the Zoloft antidepressant settled his lawsuit against Pfizer Inc., the manufacturer, on Oct. 19. Cartwright, et al. v. Pfizer Inc. No. 6:04-cv-292 (E.D. Texas).
Settlement terms were said to be confidential.
Matthew D. Cartwright sued Pfizer on May 8, 2004, in the U.S. District Court for the Eastern District of Texas, alleging that Zoloft (sertraline), an antidepressant, was responsible for the May 30, 2002, suicide death of his wife, Bethany J.
