KANSAS CITY, Mo. - Albers Medical Distributors, H.D. Smith Wholesale Drug Co. and Med-Pro Inc. were indicted on Aug. 31 in the U.S. District Court for the Western District of Missouri for conspiracy related to the sale and distribution of a counterfeit version of Pfizer Inc.'s cholesterol drug Lipitor. USA v. Albers, et al. No. 4:05-cr-00315 (W.D. Mo.).
The grand jury indictment charges Albers Medical with 53 counts of conspiracy and Med-Pro on 19 counts.
