Kansas Woman and Eli Lilly Reach Confidential Settlement in DES Lawsuit




KANSAS CITY, Kan. - A Kansas woman settled for an unspecified amount with Eli Lilly & Co. on Aug. 17 for her alleged injuries from a pregnancy drug taken by her mother in the mid-1960s. Baughn v. Eli Lilly and Co., No. 03-2626-KHV (D. Kan.).

U.S. District Judge Kathryn H. Vratil said the case was terminated without prejudice, and any stipulations must be filed by Sept. 12.

Plaintiff Barbara Baughn sued Eli Lilly in the U.S. District Court for the District of Kansas, claiming she suffered adverse effects of the company's diethylstilbestrol, which was used by Baughn's pregnant mother to …
