Wyeth Says Court Should Deny Woman's Appeal in Diet Drug Lawsuit

PHILADELPHIA - Wyeth said on Aug. 12 that the Superior Court of Pennsylvania should deny a plaintiff's appeal of a trial court's summary judgment on behalf of Wyeth, saying the appeal is vague and fails to address important issues. Lineberger v. Wyeth Inc. et al. Docket No. 1138 EDA 2005. (Pa. Super. Ct.)
Plaintiff Patricia R. Lineberger alleged that she developed aortic and mitral valve regurgitation from consuming two of Wyeth's prescription diet drugs, Pondimin® (fenfluramine hydrochloride) and Redux® (dexfenfluramine).
