Xenadrine Maker and State of N.J. Agree to $940,000 Settlement

NEWARK, N.J. - Nutraquest Inc. has agreed to pay the State of New Jersey $940,000 in a settlement reached on July 11 in which the Xenadrine maker agreed to adhere to 'strict constraints' on their marketing and advertising of weight loss products. Peter C. Harvey, et al, v. Cytodyne Technologies Inc., et al, No. C-205-03 (N.J. Super. Ct., Monmouth Cty.).
New Jersey Attorney General Peter C. Harvey and the state's Division of Consumer Affairs sued Nutraquest (formerly known as Cytodyne Technologies Inc.), its owner Robert Chinery and other defendants in July 2003 in the Superior Court of New Jersey.
