Judge Says R.I. Woman's Robitussin Claim Within Statute of Limitations

PROVIDENCE, R.I. -- A Rhode Island Superior Court judge denied Wyeth's motion for summary judgment on Apr. 14, rejecting the company's argument that a PPA claim was brought outside the statute of limitations. McKeen v. American Home Products Corp., et al. No. 02-3355 (R.I. Super., Providence Cty.).
Plaintiff Cathy McKeen suffered a stroke on Oct. 1, 1997. She sued Wyeth (formerly known as American Home Products Corp.) in June 2002, alleging that her stroke was caused by its product, Robitussin CF, which contained phenylpropanolamine (PPA).
