Increased Risk of Asthma and COPD Associated with Acetaminophen Use HYATTSVILLE, M.d. - Acetaminophen use is associated with risk of asthma, chronic obstructive pulmonary disease and decreased lung function, according to the results of the Third National Health and Nutrition Examination Survey. Researchers writing in the May issue of the American Journal of Respiratory and Critical Care Medicine found that increased use of acetaminophen was associated with COPD in a positive, dose-dependent fashion, as well as with an inverse association with lung.
