Kansas Court Denies Eli Lilly's Summary Judgment Motions

KANSAS CITY, Kan. - A Kansas federal judge has denied Eli Lilly's pre-trial motions for summary judgment in a lawsuit brought by a woman who claims injuries from a pregnancy drug taken by her mother in the mid-1960s. Baughn v. Eli Lilly and Co., No. 03-2626 (D. Kan.).

On Feb. 17, U.S. District Judge Kathryn H. Vratil ruled that plaintiff Barbara Baughn has presented sufficient evidence to argue that Eli Lilly manufactured the diethylstilbestrol used by her pregnant mother to prevent miscarriage in 1964 and 1965.
