PHILADELPHIA-A federal judge agreed to dismiss one of the first class action lawsuits filed against the manufacturer of Prempro less than a month after the case was initially filed in state court. Bloch, et al., v. Wyeth, No. 02-CV-4984 (E.D. Pa.).
U.S. District Judge Cynthia M. Rafe's order granted plaintiff June Bloch's motion for Voluntary Dismissal without Prejudice. Bloch's suit claimed that her use of the hormone replacement drug could increase her risk of future injuries such as breast cancer, heart attack, stroke and thromboembolism.
