INDIANAPOLIS - An Indiana man who says he was prescribed Zyprexa (olanzapine) for eight months for depression is suing manufacturer Eli Lilly, contending that the drug caused his diabetes mellitus. Stockman v. Eli Lilly and Co., et al., No. 49D070407CT001421 (Ind. Super., Marion Cty.).
Gary Stockman complains that he was prescribed Zyprexa from June 2001 to January 2002 for treatment of depression, and that the manufacturer never warned Stockman's physician of reported links between the drug and hyperglycemia, diabetes and ketoacidosis.
