BEAUMONT, Texas -- A new lawsuit filed in the U.S. District Court for the Eastern District of Texas alleges that the ingestion of prescription hormone replacement therapy medications for eight years caused breast cancer in a Texas woman. McBride, et al. v. Wyeth, et al., No. 04-0430 (E.D. Texas).
Filed on June 24 by Barbara McBride, the lawsuit names eight defendants, including Wyeth and Bristol-Myers Squibb. McBride alleges that those defendants did not adequately warn of the dangers of taking hormone replacement therapy drugs.
