FDA Schedules September Public Meeting on Antidepressants, Suicide

WASHINGTON, D.C. - Two federal advisory committees will meet on Sept. 13 and 14 to consider an analysis by the U.S. Food and Drug Administration that is expected to offer evidence of a link between antidepressants and an increased risk of suicide.
The U.S. Food and Drug Administration's Psychopharmacologic Drugs Advisory Committee and Pediatric Advisory Committee will meet at the Holiday Inn in Bethesda, Md., to discuss reports on clinical trials involving pediatric patients.
The committees are expected to consider the FDA study and any public comment offered on whether further regulatory action is needed.
