Plaintiffs Seek to Continue Trial Date Due to Delays in Discovery

BATON ROUGE, La. - A Louisiana couple seeking damages for liver injuries allegedly caused by Arava have moved to continue the trial date for 90 days due to discovery delays. Guidry v. Aventis Pharmaceuticals, Inc., et al. No. 03-493 (M.D. La.).

Carol and George Guidry request in their May 24 consent motion a telephone conference for the purpose of selecting a new trial date and issuing a new scheduling order.

The Guidrys are suing Aventis Pharmaceuticals, claiming that Carol's use of the rheumatoid arthritis drug caused her to suffer liver injuries. The lawsuit also names Walgreens, the pharmacy that dispensed …
