BALTIMORE - The family of a Maryland woman is suing the manufacturers of Duragesic for $25 million, claiming that the transdermal pain reliever caused her to drown in the bathtub on Feb. 6. Clampitt, et al. v. Janssen Pharmacetica, et al. No. 04-CV-1522 (D. Md.).
Plaintiff Treena Clampitt and her two siblings filed the suit in the Circuit Court for Baltimore City on April 20, complaining the patch was defective because it leaked an excessive amount of fentanyl, an opioid pain medication that is product's active ingredient.
