Parties Settle Paxil Withdrawal Case for Undisclosed Sum

LOS ANGELES - Plaintiffs claiming that they experienced withdrawal symptoms when they attempted to discontinue their use of Paxil have agreed to settle their case against manufacturer GlaxoSmithKline (GSK) for an undisclosed sum. Veronica Gallego v. SmithKline Beecham Corp., et al. No. BC267002 (Calif. Super. Ct., Los Angeles Cty.).
The parties agreed to terms of the settlement March 10.
The lawsuit, which was filed in the Los Angeles County Superior Court Jan. 24, 2002, originally involved 35 plaintiffs. Veronica Gallego and her co-plaintiffs claimed they experienced nausea, dizziness, irritability and/or electric zaps when they attempted to stop using the antidepressant. …
