Ohio Woman Files Second Lawsuit Alleging Vioxx-Induced Kidney Failure

CLEVELAND - A woman who allegedly suffered kidney failure as a result of using Vioxx recently filed a second complaint against the manufacturer of the arthritis drug and 10 unnamed defendants. Rose Rocca v. Merck & Co. Inc., et al. No. CV-04-520384 (Ohio Ct. Comm. Pleas, Cuyahoga Cty.).
Plaintiff Rose Rocca's Jan. 24 complaint alleged that Vioxx manufacturer Merck manufactured and sold a defective and unreasonably dangerous product and failed to adequately warn about its ability to cause kidney failure. She claims the unnamed defendants helped sell and distribute Vioxx.
