ST. LOUIS, Mo. - Remicade manufacturer Centocor Inc. recently moved for summary judgment in a case involving a woman who allegedly developed tuberculosis after using the biologic treatment for rheumatoid arthritis. Janet Rolwes v. Centocor Inc., et al. No. 03-CV-00151-CAS (E.D. Mo., Eastern Div.).
Centocor asserted in its Feb. 17 motion that plaintiff Janet Rolwes cannot establish a causal link between her development of tuberculosis and Remicade, and that the company adequately warned her treating physician that some patients using the biologic treatment had suffered similar adverse events.
