Summary: The authors state that in order for a patient receiving an antidepressant as well as another drug to avoid a potential drug-drug interaction, the antidepressant should not have an inhibitory or inductive effect on cytochrome CYP3A4. A four-way crossover study designed to investigate the potential of four diverse antidepressants to inhibit or induce CYP3A4 enzyme.
