WILMINGTON, Del. — Medical expert witnesses may testify that scientific evidence links the cancer of more than 72,000 individuals and their exposure to human carcinogen, N-Nitrosodimethylamine (NDMA) through their use of the popular antacid drug Zantac (ranitidine), a Delaware judge has ruled.

Medinilla of the Delaware Superior Court ruled in a May 31 opinion that, at this stage in the litigation, it can be determined that the experts’ opinions are backed by sound methodology and that a jury must decide whether they establish that plaintiffs’ cancer was caused by Zantac.
