Stryker Denied Summary Judgment in Pain Pump Injury Case

MINNEAPOLIS — A Minnesota federal judge has denied Stryker Corp.’s motion for summary judgment in a pain pump injury case, ruling that an issue of fact exists as to whether the pain pump at issue was made by Stryker. Prettyman v. Stryker Corp., et al., No. 09-2794 (D. Minn.).

On July 3, Judge John R. Tuneim of the U.S. District Court for the District of Minnesota held that a pre-printed order form and operative report filled out by the surgeon reasonably support an inference that a Stryker device was used.
